(Washington DC, May 5th, 2014). Facing Constitution Avenue, near the obelisk, a few blocks from Lincoln Memorial, in the Marcus Garvey Hall at the Organization of American States (OAS), the expo “Interior: Dominican Republic Harvests” was opened with photographs of a book by the same name edited by VICINI last December.
With the assistance of numerous OAS permanent mission representatives, Dominican Week representatives, and general guests, the exhibit enabled public contemplation in the US capitol.
The expo was coordinated by the VICINI execs Darys Estrella and Josefina Dieguez, and was opened by the US Dominican Week Organization Committee President, Roberto Herrera. In his words, Herrera thanked VICINI for their support. “It is the third time they arrange a cultural exchange like this within the US Dominican Week agenda, and I thank Estrella and Dieguez as company representatives at this event.”
The demonstrations displays images caught by Miriam Calzada, Eladio Fernandez, and Pedro Genaro. The text was written by economist Carlos Despradel. The book recounts all the product dimensions found in the fields of the Dominican Republic. It’s a different way of communicating what the country exports and can commercialize in countries like the US, who already imports a great quantity of fruits and vegetables from various agricultural zones of the country.
After the opening act, the audience members enjoyed a toast and shared photograph impressions.
